Achievement Center
Al Jazeera Academy is an International IB Candidate World School that believes each child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential and to become a functioning member of society. Participating in education with other children of the same age offers learning opportunities which cannot be replicated in a segregated setting. Research has proven that a child with learning disabilities will progress faster and further, both academically and socially, when included in mainstream education.
At present we are able to offer a set number of places within our mainstream classes, to children who have diagnosed mild special needs.
The learner will have to fulfill our admission criteria. The learner’s behaviour must be manageable and not detrimental to the safety or learning of the applicant or the other pupils in the class. If deemed necessary, a shadow teacher (approved by the school) will need to accompany the learner. The learner must have the potential to progress within the AJA environment. The learner will be supported by the Achievement Centre staff and an Individual Education Plan will be developed to facilitate their ongoing development.
Learning to include, accept and support people with differing abilities and needs will help us all become caring, principled, balanced, reflective, open-minded and knowledgeable thinkers and provide us with the opportunity to display these IB learner profile attributes.
Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you would like any more information.
