It is my pleasure to work at a school which uses the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, which aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme is recognised around the world and ensures an increased adaptability and mobility for our students. The programme focuses on international perspectives of learning and teaching, while insisting students fully explore their home culture and language. Our programme is rigorous; it aims to equip students with the skills to learn, to acquire knowledge and then to apply these accordingly across a broad range of areas.
Our teachers are very well qualified. They regularly participate in a wide variety of professional development opportunities, to constantly update their knowledge and improve their practice. They are supported by year group leaders and coordinators for each section. These being the Early Learning Centre, Lower Primary (years one and two); and Upper Primary (years three to six) coordinators. We are also fortunate to have an experienced Primary Years Programme Coordinator who coordinates how and what we teach.
All International Baccalaureate learners, be they teachers or pupils strive to be: inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective.
